elle p. (Petra Gregorovic) is an interdisciplinary artist born in Bratislava, Slovakia, working across music, performance and new media. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 2005, following her studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Philosophy in Palermo, Italy, in 1999. Since moving to Berlin in 2005, she has maintained an active artistic and musical practice and is currently based in Potsdam. Her work has been presented at institutions, galleries and festivals across Germany and internationally, including the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus in Munich, Berlin Art Week, Transmediale in Berlin, Millerntor Gallery in Hamburg and The Lovelace in Munich. She has also released music on labels such as Souvenir Music, Snowhite Records, Beats in Space Records and Cocoon Recordings.

elle p.’s interdisciplinary practice brings together music, video, singing, performance, installation and collage, exploring the relationships between image, space, sound and language. Working with found materials, everyday objects and situational elements, she develops compositions and performances characterised by improvisation, responsiveness and an ongoing dialogue with their surrounding contexts. Her work reflects on the conditions that shape artistic production and on questions of female positioning within the art world. Domestic environments and objects associated with the home frequently serve as sources of material and inspiration, allowing her to revisit the figure of the housewife and the historically gendered division between domestic labour and artistic production. Engaging with feminist histories and movements for women’s liberation, she reclaims everyday materials and gestures as tools for artistic expression, questioning traditional female roles and the boundaries between private and public space.
Her residency project, Collaged Performances (working title), comprises a series of unique collages developed over the course of a year in relation to her past and present artworks, particularly performances. Combining photographic excerpts from selfies, drawings, found objects and ready-made materials, the works draw on personal imagery and everyday references, transforming familiar elements into layered compositions that explore identity, femininity and the relationship between private and public space. The series is conceived as 19 individual pieces to be presented in a salon-style arrangement, accompanied, where appropriate, by a live performance. During the residency, elle p. aims to further develop the compositional relationships between the individual works, reflect on their position within contemporary artistic discourse and explore new possibilities for dialogue, exchange and collaboration.
